Dear Daughter of God,

Dear Daughter of God,

What if I told you…

Your identity is NOT tied to your possessions.

Your identity is NOT shaped by your achievements.

Your identity is NOT defined by your past experiences.

What if I told you…

The One who created the stars and the seas also crafted you with intention. He gave you a name, one that is deeply cherished. That name is Daughter.

I know it can be hard to accept. You might think, "How can I be God’s daughter if... insert your ragging doubt, that deeply rooted fear, the lie that tries to tell you you aren’t worthy?"

But I’m here to remind you of something true—and I’ll show you how I know.

There’s a woman in the Bible, someone society only saw by her issue. She had been bleeding for 12 years, seeking every cure she could find. People rejected her, and labeled her “unclean.” But one day, she heard about a man who could heal her. That man was Jesus, and their encounter would change her life forever (Luke 8:43-48).

Another woman, hidden by her mistakes, sought security in relationships that left her ashamed. Feeling the weight of her guilt, she avoided others and would go to the well at the hottest part of the day to remain as hidden as she could control. But at the well one day, in the heat of the day, she met Jesus. And just like that, her life was never the same (John 4:4-30).

Then, there’s a girl I know—someone who struggled with her self-worth through her parents’ divorce, carrying the emptiness of a broken emotional connection with her dad. She fought a private battle, with a throne so deep in her flesh that it left her feeling unworthy of love. Until one night, God met her, right in her room, and everything shifted.

And then… there’s you. Insert your story here. The same man who healed these women? He longs to meet with you too.

The women I’ve mentioned went unnamed, but here’s the powerful truth about each of them: their stories. Those stories, filled with pain and healing, became testimonies that revealed the transformative power of love and redemption to the world they once hid from.

Dear Daughter of God, you carry that same power within you. On days when the weight feels too heavy… remember this:

You Are Known I Remember that woman who had several husbands? The one who was searching for her worth and identity in her relationships. She met Jesus at a well, in the scorching heat, at the hottest part of the day to grab water, and He told her everything about her. She’d never met Him before that day, but He knew her. He laid out her past, but instead of ridiculing her, He gave her a new story. Her story would go on to impact an entire nation, and even the partners from her past—they would all come to believe in the very man who changed her life

You Are Seen I Remember that girl who felt unworthy of love? That girl was me. There were days I bled internally, believing I was the only one. But one night, God met me in my room. He gave me a vision of the little girl who was hurting. He showed me the moment when the seed was planted—when she lay in her princess castle bed, clutching her Scooby-Doo teddy bear—the seed of the addiction she would struggle with for years. And in that moment, He allowed me, the woman I am today, to go back and tell her, "You are not invisible. I can see you."

You Are Safe I Remember the woman with the issue of blood? She heard about a man named Jesus who could heal, and despite the risk, she did something courageous—she touched the hem of His garment, something forbidden by law because her condition made her “unclean.” Jesus asked the crowd, "Who touched me?" and I imagine she was afraid to confess, knowing the courage it took to break the law. But when the woman confessed, Jesus said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” Jesus didn’t clear the crowd to shame her; He did it to heal her publicly, showing her and everyone else that in His hands, she was safe.

Daughter of God, I believe God wants to heal the little girl inside you, the part that feels unseen, unworthy, or unsafe. Because He wants the woman you’re becoming to rise in all her fullness and beauty.

Sis, I encourage you to take a moment for yourself. Grab a journal and try this:

  1. Close your eyes and ask, "Who didn’t see me?"

  2. Give yourself the grace to feel it. Write it out. Write a letter to the person who didn’t see you, or maybe to your younger self, and say the words you need to hear. If it feels overwhelming, seek someone—a therapist, or a counselor—who can walk through this healing with you.

  3. Then pray: "Abba, Father, how do You see me?" Abba, Father, can You restore how I see You?"

He will meet you in that prayer.

For so long, the woman with the issue of blood was known by a condition that made her “unclean” to society, but God knew her beyond her condition. He called her Daughter.

For so long, the woman with five husbands believed her worth was defined by her past, but God saw her beyond her mistakes.

For so long, I hid my internal warfare because I thought people would judge me for it. So I kept up this “perfect girl” image, but God said that if He healed my wounds. I could tell my story.

And for so long… insert your story here.

But here’s what I promised you: proof.

Your name is NOT defined by what you own.

Your name is NOT reflected in what you accomplish.

Your name is NOT linked to your past experiences.

Your name is Daughter, and I’m honored to be your sister in this loving, redeemed, and healthy family of God.

Now, close your eyes again. Go back to the version of you that needs healing, and tell her, "Baby girl, you are safe now. Abba is holding you in His hands."

Written with Love,

Your Sis <3
